Without anecdote, an exhalation
of Syd Barrett & Jeremy
on the same day in heart proximity.
Scried in materialist wonder.
Or, from Ferry Path to Yenyenning,
an anti-epic magnification
in age apart from the lookout.
Disassociated, but never painted
in acrylics, a brick dwelling’s
inscribed walls vanishing
through theological cracks.
To my brother, a sharing
robust as flume & description
of circumstance. Disregarding
encryptions, which
never were. Not ever.
Slow build, this composition.
Scaffolding of lesser ironies.
Shed shells of salt-lake snails
& upper river mussels
never were disporting
among spent shotgun shells
(twelve gauge, crimped plastic
opened out to wind chime)
against an impetus, an attempt
to lessen say-so; yes, resisted.
Red in the very dead eucalypts
before grammable moments
made abundance of decline. The saline.
This & what the salt said, left behind.
