You Mean Love
Heat lanced barrier we came to pass
is God love or love simply easy
under cover of summer, the heart
is clumsy yet forever present
I make it knowing this my forward
forever might feel, little scratching paint
at the face plate dust carriers dream
star rivers to a moonlit circle.
My quiet young body stooped to listen
for almost silent music. You wake up
the evening starstorm, world notions
smoking missed, that ours, our fields
go by in secret. The train comes home,
the people applaud. We moved by one
another barrier collision hearts forth reset
denied you ever said it you mean love.
